Barrington Hibbert strengthen commitment to social impact with new sponsorship deal
As part of an ongoing commitment to social impact, and levelling the playing field, Barrington Hibbert Associates has agreed a long-term sponsorship with Paralympic athlete Ashley Facey, as he strives for success in Team GB’s cycling team.
Ashley was born with Erbs palsy, which has affected the nerves in the right side of his body. Growing up in East London, he was encouraged to take up sport by his mother and started playing table tennis age 11. After impressing coaches with his natural talent, Ashley was called up to join the GB performance squad in 2009, and following his selection for the Paralympic Inspiration Programme took part in his first Paralympic Games in Rio 2016. He went on to win silver at the European Championships in 2017, his first major championship medal. After receiving a wild card entry, Ashley competed in both the Singles and Team table tennis events at Tokyo 2020.
Now, with the experience of two Paralympic Games behind him, Ashley has switched his attention to a new sport, and with Barrington Hibbert’s sponsorship set to help with is training as he aims to join Team GB’s cycling team as they battle for medals at the 2024 Paralympics.
Michael Barrington Hibbert, Founder and Managing Partner of Barrington Hibbert Associates said:
“As much as many of us enjoy watching sport, athletes often face serious challenges when it comes to finding the financial support to pursue their goals. We believe that sport, like all areas should be accessible to all who have the talent, rather than just those who have access to the finances, and we are committed to using our resources to help make this happen. Ashely’s talent, work ethic and dedication to his sport shine through everything that he does, and it is an honour to support him as he embarks on his Paralympic journey.”
